Angul: Police caught seven migrant Odia workers while they were trying to escape from a train in Majhika, in Odisha’s Angul district on Sunday.
According to reports, a Shramik Special train — carrying 1202 Odia workers from Ahmedabad — was on way to Khurda Road when some migrant workers, reportedly from Deogarh district, stopped the train by pulling the chain at Majhika near Angul.
However, they were detained by people of the nearby area who informed the Angul Police Station. Police personnel rushed to the spot and took the seven workers to a government quarantine centre in Angul.
Angul SP Jagmohan Meena said some other workers managed to escape from the train and efforts are on to trace them.
