Rourkela: Seven Odisha boys are among a 40-strong Sub-Junior Core group selected for the national hockey coaching camp.
They are – Pradeep Mandal, Deepak Pradhan, Suresh Sharma, Yojin Minz, Deonath Nanwar, Rohit Kullu and Abhimanyu Gouda.
The camp gets underway at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium here on August 21.
Former Indian men’s hockey team captain Sardar Singh will be the coach and mentor for the camp.
The Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium has emerged as a major centre for the sport since it was inaugurated in January when it hosted the Men’s FIH World Cup along with Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.
