Bhubaneswar: Information and Public Relations minister Raghunadnan Das on Friday flagged off seven ‘Sachetanata Rath’ (awareness chariots) on COVID-19 at Sanskruti Bhawan here.
The vehicles will go around Balasore, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Ganjam districts and Bhubaneswar city promoting awareness on the disease till December 30.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the awareness campaign has been launched in view of the possible spread of the coronavirus during winter season. Odisha has emerged as an ideal state in COVID-19 management due to bold and far0-sighted decisions and consistent review of the situation by chief minister Naveen Patnaik, he added.
During the tour of the vehicles from 9 am to 5 pm, two folk art groups will join in the awareness campaign. They will perform their arts to send across the message to the people.
Senior officers of the departments concerned also spoke on the occasion, according to a press release of Information and Public Relations department.
