Cuttack: A 7-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and gang-raped by some miscreants from Balisahi under Madhupatna police limits in Odisha’s Cuttack city, on Thursday evening.
According to sources, the perpetrators offered to take her to a nearby hospital when she fell down while riding a bicycle in the locality and sustained injuries. However, they took the girl to a secluded place and allegedly raped her.
She narrated the ordeal before her family members on returning home, following which, they lodged a complaint at Madhupatna police station. The girl was later admitted SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as her health deteriorated.
Police have started an investigation into the matter and efforts are on to apprehend the accused.
This incident came a fortnight after a nine-year-old orphan girl was allegedly raped in College Square area near the Cuttack railway station while returning from school to a Child Care Institute (CCI) where she was rehabilitated by the administration.
