Bhubaneswar: A 7-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted after being kidnapped in Bhubaneswar on Saturday morning.
According to sources, the minor girl went missing this morning. Following which, her parents, who live in a slum under Shree Lingaraj police limits, launched a frantic search for her. A woman later found the girl with some injury marks on her neck and hand near an under construction house close to a temple.
With the parents alleging that their daughter was sexually assaulted following her abduction, Shree Lingaraj Police sent the girl to the BMC Hospital for medical examination. The CCTV cameras in the area are being examined to nab the culprit.
This came a day after a minor girl was found dead inside Dunguri forest in Bargarh district. It was suspected that the girl, aged around 4 to 5 years, was murdered after being raped and the naked body later dumped in the forest.
