70 Schoolkids Taken Ill After Midday Meal

Bhadrak: At least 70 students fell ill after consuming midday meal at Banapinjara Project Primary School in Sendtira panchayat of Bhadrak district on Wednesday.

The victims were rushed to the district headquarters hospital after complaining of nausea, vomiting and stomach ache.

The district collector, accompanied by other officers, visited the spot and took stock of the situation.

The collector assured parents and guardians of the ailing students that an inquiry will be conducted into the matter.

According to locals, the incident took place after a lizard fell into the food while the cooks were prepared it.
