74 Lakh Registered For Subhadra Yojana In Odisha: Deputy CM Pravati Parida

Bhubaneswar: Nearly 74 lakh women have already registered for Subhadra Yojana, the flagship scheme of Odisha government for welfare of women, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida informed during the launch event graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.

The programme will benefit more than 1 crore women of the state, she added.

The eligible beneficiaries of Subhadra Yojana, who have registered their names by September 15, will get their first instalment of Rs 5,000 following the launch of the scheme by the PM.

However, there is no closing date for applying for the scheme.

The state government will annually deposit Rs 10,000, in two instalments of Rs 5,000 each on Rakhi Purnima and International Women’s Day (March 8), in the accounts of the beneficiaries through DBT, totaling to Rs 50,000 in five years.

This financial assistance scheme for the women of Odisha was one of the major poll promise of the BJP, which catapulted it to power in the state.
