Bhubaneswar: Odisha recorded a 78.6 per cent voter turnout in the third phase of polling in the three-tier, five-phase panchayat elections held on Sunday, the State Election Commission (SEC) informed on Monday while releasing the final voting percentages.
Sonepur district registered the highest 87.44 per cent turnout, followed by Nabarangpur (86.33 per cent) and Koraput (84.78 per cent).
Ganjam saw the lowest 66.75 per cent turnout.
A voter turnout of 78.3 per cent was recorded in the second phase of the polls held on February 18. Then also, Sonepur recorded the highest 85.67 per cent turnout followed by Jharsuguda (85.14 per cent), Boudh (84.9 per cent), Kalahandi (83.81 per cent), Gajapati (82.69 per cent) and Gajapati (82.69 per cent).
Ganjam district recorded the lowest turnout at 64.86 per cent in the second phase also.
In the first phase on February 16, the state recoded 77.2 per cent turnout.
