Sonepur: Over eight people were injured, some of them critically, when a bus carrying picnickers rammed into truck near Kadamatala on NH 57 in Odisha’s Sonepur district on Thursday.
According to preliminary reports, the mishap took place when students of a computer academy of Sonepur were returning after a picnic in Deomali area of Koraput district. As the bus dashed against the truck from the rear, several students sustained injuries.
The mishap was stated to have taken place due to reduced visibility caused by dense fog in the area.
The injured persons were rushed to the District Headquarter Hospital (DHH) of Sonepur. At least two persons who sustained critical injuries were shifted to VIMSAR at Burla for treatment.
