8 Injured In Violent Clash Between Rival Groups In Odisha’s Keonjhar

Keonjhar: At least eight people were injured, some of them critically, in a violent clash between two groups at a village in Ramachandrapur area of Odisha’s Keonjhar district.

As per information, members belonging to two groups clashed at Agarda village under the jurisdiction of Ramachandrapur police station in the district on Tuesday evening over some issues relating to past rivalry.

At least eight people, including some women, were injured in the incident as both groups used sticks and indulged in stone-throwing. Two of them sustained critical injuries. The injured persons were admitted to a hospital nearby. Two of them were later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

After getting information, a team of police personnel rushed to the site and brought the situation under control. Five people have been detained in connection with the violent incident and investigation is in progress.

Separate cases have been registered by the police based on complaints lodged by both the groups, which had entered into a similar clash around a year ago.
