Boudh: At least eight members of a family sustained critical injuries after a speeding truck dashed against the vehicle carrying them on NH 57 in Odisha’s Boudh district on Sunday morning.
The mishap occurred at Bahira Square under the jurisdiction of Baunsuni Police Station.
According to sources, members of a family from Bargarh district were returning after offering prayers at Jagannath Temple in Puri in a Bolero when the vehicle collided head-on with a speeding truck.
On being informed, the fire services personnel reached the spot and rescued the victims with the help of locals. They were rushed to the Baunsuni Hospital for treatment. The condition of most of the injured was stated to be critical.
A team of police personnel visited the spot and launched a probe.
