New Delhi: Raids conducted by Punjab Police teams after the gunning down of Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moose Wala have resulted in eight sharpshooters being identified.
They belong to Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Maharashtra, Hindustan Times reported quoting sources. The development comes hours after an accused arrested for the murder of a gangster was found to be suspected of involvement in the Moose Wala murder, the report added. The arrested accused is suspected of providing the Bolero car used by the shooters to gun down Moose Wala in Jawaharke village in Mansa district of Punjab on May 29.
Manpreet Bhau of Dhaipe village in Mansa district was among the first to be arrested by Punjab Police in the murder case two days after the murder. The police alleged Bhau had provided logistics for the killing.
The Punjab Police suspect it to be a result of an inter-gang rivalry and blamed Lawrence Bishnoi gang for the singer’s murder. Bishnoi is currently in Tihar jail and has been interrogated by the Delhi Police Special Cell. Moments after Moose Wala was killed, Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar in a Facebook post had claimed responsibility. Brar is a close associate of Lawrence Bishnoi.
