Bhopal: An 8-year-old boy, who fell into a 55-feet borewell in Madhya Pradesh’s Betul district, passed away in the wee hours of Saturday as the rescue operations entered its fourth day, reported news agency ANI.
The deceased was identified as Tanmay Sahu. His body was recovered from the borewell after 85 hours of rescue operations and was taken to Betul District Hospital by ambulance where he was pronounced dead.
According to reports, Tanmay fell into the borewell on December 6 while he was playing outside his home following which rescue operations were immediately initiated but unfortunately he lost his life.
State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Home Guard, and local police personnel were deployed for the job over the past four days.
The team dug a tunnel parallel to the borewell. CCTV cameras were installed to monitor the child’s movements and oxygen was being supplied to him. However, no response was noticed from him.
