Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday ordered immediate financial assistance to four persons suffering from critical ailments.
The Chief Minister, who heard the problems of the public at his grievance cell in Bhubaneswar, told reporters that four people have been given immediate financial assistance.
Stressing that immediate steps are being taken to resolve the problems of the people, Majhi said that they will receive money from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund within two days. He said these affected people were given Rs one lakh each as as assistance.
Stating that 84 per cent of the grievances have been resolved during the public hearing, the Chief Minister said the remaining grievances are in the process of being resolved.
Sharing details, he said Hemant Sahu of Nimapada, who was seriously injured after falling from a roof, and Bichitra Paikaraya of Nirakarpur, who is suffering from spinal problems, narrated their problems at the CM’s grievance hearing programme. Taking immediate steps, the Chief Minister has approved assistance of Rs one lakh each for both of them from the ‘Chief Minister’s Relief Fund’.
To a query on Congress targeting the government over crime against women, the Chief Minister asserted that the government is taking prompt action on the criminal cases that are coming to notice.
While the government is set to publish a ‘white paper’ on the issue, the accused are being arrested and sent to jail. The court will decide their punishment, Majhi said.
Maintaining that the government that will run away by adjourning the Assembly, Majhi said the government is a people’s government and is ready to discuss any issue in the House. The job of the opposition is to raise issues and our government is always ready to answer them, the CM said, adding that the opposition can raise any issue in the Assembly for discussion instead of making false and baseless allegations.
