Mussoorie: The Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) campus was on Wednesday declared a containment zone after 85 trainee Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officers and faculty members tested COVID-positive.
They have been advised home isolation and medication, if necessary, said Rajiv Dikshit, nodal health officer, Dehradun. He added that the number of people infected may rise.
The trainees, who visited villages close to international borders across India, were tested after arriving at the academy two days ago.
A total of 489 civil services officers of the 96th foundation course and faculty members took part in a field study and research programme which started on December 27.
In November 2020, 54 COVID-positive cases were reported at the academy.
