Puri: Police on Tuesday seized 8500 bottles of cough syrup from two cars and arrested four persons in this connection.
The four arrested persons are Mrutyunjay Sahu, Debashis Ray Pritam, Manoj Kumar Bhuyan and Jyotish Kumar Kanungo.
According to reports, while the four persons were on the way to Puri from Bhubaneswar in two cars, they were detained by Baseli Sahu Police at a checkpoint near Mangalaghat. After checking the cars, police found 8500 bottles of cough syrup having 100 ML each.
Further investigation is on to ascertain the source of supply of these cough syrups, police said.
The four arrested persons have been forwarded to court.
