Cuttack: A total of 8583 persons have been arrested in Odisha in the last three months since September for drunken driving.
According to a release by the State Police Headquarters, 2394 persons were arrested in September, 3462 in October and 2727 in November.
The highest number of the arrested persons is from Ganjam district with 1799 followed by Mayurbhanj (1061), Jajpur (886), Angul (559), Dhenkanal (335), Sambalpur (276), Berhampur (261), Gajapati (256), Sundargarh (227).
On the other hand, the number of arrested persons is lowest in Puri district with 11.
Besides, the number of drunk drivers in the Urban Police District (UPD) of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack is 20 and 147 respectively, the release added.
