Kendrapada: In a shocking incident, a 87-year-old man was arrested on Monday for allegedly raping a five-year old minor girl at Bandhasahi village under Aul police limits in Kendrapada district.
According to sources, the man, identified as Sunakara Patra is a shopkeeper in Bandhasahi village.
As per the complaint lodged by the victim’s mother, Sunakar allegedly took the minor girl inside his cabin on November 23 and confined her there.
On getting to know about it, her mother rushed to the place and found her daughter lying unconscious near the cabin. She also found serious injury marks in her daughter’s private parts.
The woman lodged a complaint at Aul police station on Saturday.
Based on the complaint, police arrested Sunakar on Monday morning, sources said.
