9-12% Average Salary Hike Likely This Year

Mumbai: India Inc is likely to give an average 9 per cent salary hike this year.

The average salary hike in 2022 is likely to be 9 per cent against 7 per cent in the pre-pandemic year of 2019, the Michael Page Salary Report 2022 said, according to PTI.

The hikes are likely to go up to 12 per cent, it added.

Senior-level professionals with computer science backgrounds can negotiate for some of the highest-paying jobs in India, thanks to the growth of e-commerce and digital transformation, it said.

Data scientists, web developers and cloud architects would be in high demand.

Companies are keen to retain top performers with various offers, including shorter appraisal cycles, promotions, variable payouts, stock incentives, retention bonuses and mid-term increments, the report said.
