Nine media personnel who were on the same IndiGo flight as actor Kangana Ranaut from Mumbai to Chandigarh on September 9, will not be allowed to fly on airlines for 15 days (from October 15-30) over their alleged unruly behaviour, India Today reported.
India Today quoted sources as saying the action was recommended by an internal committee that was set up after Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) reprimanded the airline for not acting against media persons who allegedly behaved in an unruly fashion.
It may be recalled that some media persons violated safety and social distancing norms while reporting about Kangana Ranaut, who was travelling to Mumbai.
The DGCA had also issued an order warning all domestic airlines that it would suspend a flight for two weeks if any such violation is found hereafter, the report added.
It also said that the aviation regulator has instructed IndiGo to take action against all those who violated guidelines and SOPs, and submit an action taken report. The DGCA had warned it will take suitable action if the airlines fails to submit the report.
