Bhubaneswar: As many as 9 people were killed and many injured in lightning strikes across Odisha on Saturday.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed deep sorrow and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh (each) for family of the victims.
According to the information received so far, 2 people have died in Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Bhadrak districts each, while three have died in Keonjhar, Dhenkanal and Ganjam districts.
CM Majhi wished the injured a speedy recovery and said that the state government will bear their medical expenses.
