9 Killed, Several Injured In Truck-Tempo Collision In Bihar’s Lakhisarai

Lakhisarai: At least nine people were killed and several others injured, some of them critically, in a collision between a truck and a tempo in Bihar’s Lakhisarai district in the early hours of Wednesday.

The collision occurred on the Lakhisarai-Sikandra main road at Biharaura village. The tempo carrying around 15 passengers, who were returning from a wedding ceremony, hit the truck coming from the opposite direction, police said.

Most of the deceased men hailed from the Munger district.

“The accident took place around 3 am on the Lakhisarai-Sikandra main road. While nine people died on the spot, several others sustained injuries. All injured were taken to the nearest government hospital, ” Lakshisarai SP Pankaj Kumar told PTI.

The driver of the truck fled the spot, Kumar added. “The truck has been seized by police and investigation is on”, the SP added.
