Bhubaneswar: In a proud moment for Odisha, as many as nine girls from the state have made a cut to the national team for the Asia Women 15-A-side Rugby Championships.
India is sending a 26-member contingent to the championships, which is scheduled to be held at Queenstown Stadium in Singapore from June 2.
The girls selected from Odisha are – Meera Rani Hembram, Sanjukta Munda, Laxmipriya Sahu, Subhalaxmi Barik, Bhagyalaxmi Barik, Sumitra Nayak, Hupi Majhi, Rajani Sabar and Pravati Kisku.
India will first take on hosts Singapore and then play Philippines three days later on June 5.
