Koraput: Police seized around 90 kg of ganja, worth around Rs 9 lakh in domestic market, from a car near Kadri Chhak in Lamtaput area of Odisha’s Koraput district late on Wednesday.
According to sources, Machkund police along with their Lamtaput counterparts spotted a speeding car while checking vehicles by putting up barricades near Kadri Chhak and chased it for around 2 km. It was later founded abandoned in a forested area. Police recovered around 90 kg of ganja packed in five sacks while searching the car.
Sources further said that the ganja was being transported to Jeypore from Andhra Pradesh to Jeypore.
While a case under NDPS Act has been registered, police have launched a manhunt to nab the accused.
