91 New COVID-19 Cases In Bhubaneswar; 26 Employees Of Flour Mill & 9 Of Construction Firm Infected

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha capital on Wednesday saw another record spike in COVID-19 cases with 91 people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, which took the affected tally to 1343.

Among them, 72 are quarantine and 19 local contact cases.

According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 26 employees of a four mill at Mancheswar have contracted the virus from a previous patient while another nine are staffer of a construction company at Rajmahal linked to an earlier positive case.

Similarly, 14 cases have reported from Ganapati Nagar Basti at IRC Village here. Besides these, seven more cases have been detected in other slums of the city.

Barring two with travel history, 70 quarantine cases are linked to previous COVID-19 patients.

“Further contact tracing is on. Primary contacts and nearby houses are being quarantined, sanitised and these will be under active surveillance,” the BMC tweeted.

On the other hand, 99 more patients have been cured of the infection.

With 11 deaths and 724 recoveries, Bhubaneswar now has 606 active cases.
