London: Queen Elizabeth II is very particular about what she eats. And if she wants any takeaway food, royal chefs create their own version of the dish for Her Majesty.
But there is one fast food she can’t resist — burgers.
Former royal chef Darren McGrady has revealed that the 94-year-old monarch prefers her burgers without a bun.
“It always tickled me at Balmoral, we would make our own burgers… There’d be gorgeous cranberry and everything stuffed into them, but we never set buns out,” McGrady was quoted as saying by Insider.
He added that the royals would eat their burgers with knife and fork. “The only thing that the Queen eats with fingers is afternoon tea,” he informed.
“The menus at Buckingham Palace are very traditionally French, which wouldn’t lean towards having pizza on it,” McGrady said.
