Nabarangpur: In a major breakthrough against wildlife smuggling in Odisha, forest officials seized 95 rare turtles at Maidalpur in Nabarangpur district on Sunday night.
According to the sources, a bike-borne man was carrying the turtles in a bag. He, however, left the bag and the bike and fled the spot after spotting a team of forest officials.
The forest officials recovered the turtles and also seized the bike.
All the turtles will be released after examining their health condition, forest officials said.
