Bhubaneswar: Her age may have posed a challenge, but 98-year-old Annapurna Biswal won the battle against COVID-19 by staying positive.
Annapurna, who also suffers from co-morbidities, has defeated the infection at SUM COVID Hospital in the capital city, spreading cheer among the doctors and giving a ray of hope for patients suffering from the infection.
A resident of Chandrashekharpur, Annapurna tested positive for COVID-19 on May 5. Her family members rushed her to SUM COVID Hospital for treatment.
The nonagenarian, who also suffers from filaria, hypertension and diabetes responded to the medication and turned around within a week’s time, said the doctors treating her.
“The dedicated care extended to my mother has helped her recover,” said her son Kulamani.
The help desk set up in the hospital extended great support to the family during the difficult time, said Annapurna’s daughter-in-law Rajashree.
The woman waved bye to the treating doctors flashing a big smile on her face.
