Keonjhar: With an aim to develop early learning capabilities in children block level library/learning and career counselling centres will be developed in each of the 13 blocks of Keonjhar district under the DMF Sankalp initiative.
The learning centres will aid in academic excellence in students and exam competitiveness in aspiring youth of the district.
Spread over an area of one acre, the library will have capacity of 15,000 books in Odia and other languages on arts and scientific subjects besides books, newspapers and publications. It has the capacity to seat 200 persons on each floor and in the garden green reading space, which is open to all users avoiding cumbersome membership processes.
Digital library systems connecting the servers of National Digital Library, Odisha Archives, Odisha Secretariat Library and E-Libraries of reputed Indian institutions will be accessible to users along with a free Wi-Fi zone in the learning centre.
Natural light and ventilation maximised through naturally lit Reading Spaces and open to sky internal exhibition space. Rainwater Harvesting Systems and Site development will follow environment friendly technologies.
