‘A Lie Told 1,000 Times Will Never Become The Truth’: Anu Malik Breaks Silence On Allegations Made By Amaal Mallik

Mumbai: After ‘Bigg Boss 19’ contestant Amaal Mallik repeatedly alleged that his uncle Anu Malik betrayed his father Daboo Mallik and sabotaged his career, the veteran music composer broke his silence and heaped scorn on his nephew.

Rubbishing the allegations made by Amaal, Anu stated that if a lie is told over and over again, it doesn’t become the truth.

“A lie told 1,000 times will never become the truth. One can’t waste energy reacting to everything,” Anu said.

“My father (composer Sardar Malik) always told me, never allow poison to churn in your mind. If you do, you’ll never be a good composer. People may hurt you, but they can’t take away your talent, that’s yours. I sit at my piano, make a new tune, and that’s my answer to the world,” Anu added.

For the unversed, during an interview with Siddharth Kannan in July, Amaal had alleged that noted music composer Anu Mallik cheated on his father Daboo and ruined his career because of jealousy.

Last month, Amaal claimed in ‘Bigg Boss 19’ that his uncle Anu and his wife had ‘abandoned’ him during the floods in Mumbai in 2005.

Earlier this year, Anu had rubbished reports of differences with his brother Daboo and his family, calling Daboo his “jigar ka tukda” and describing Amaal and his brother Armaan as “humari jaan”.

Amid the ongoing controversy, Anu shared that he is currently focusing “solely” on his work.

Talking about his upcoming project, Anu shared,  “It is a very beautiful, tender story about a girl who has to choose between love and fame. The director told me, ‘I want songs that will stand the test of time.’ That’s how it all began.”

Admitting that he often feels under-appreciated for his work, Anu added, “I feel like I’ve been underused and underutilised. There’s still so much more I can give.”
