A One-Off Special ‘Flight To Nowhere’ For Religious Worshippers!

Bangkok: In a one-off initiative, the Thai Airways has arranged a ‘Magical Flying Experience’ flight over some of Thailand’s holiest Buddhist religious sites, with passengers on board reciting mantras.

The sightseeing-cum-spiritual ‘flight to nowhere’ will last three hours, reports CNN.

The Thai Airways flight will take off from Bangkok on November 30 and travel over 99 sacred sites like Wat Arun, Temple of Emerald Buddha, Phra Samut Chedi, Wat Phra Boromma That Chaiya and UNESCO-listed heritage sites in Sukhothai and Ayutthaya.

The flight will cover 31 out of 77 provinces in Thailand before returning to the capital city.

A celebrity fortune teller and religion history expert will lead the chanting of Buddhist mantras on board the special flight.

An economy class ticket will cost USD 193, while people will have to shell out USD 321 for premium class.

The unique initiative is part of the Thai government’s plan to boost domestic tourism.
