New Delhi: Five people, including two doctors, have been charged in connection to FRIENDS actor Matthew Perry’s death due to drug overdose.
Among these five, a woman named Jasveen Sangha has also been accused of providing the lethal dose of ketamine to the FRIENDS actor which led to his death. Who is this woman and what else has she been accused of?
Popularly known as “the Ketamine Queen,” Jasveen Sangha is a 41-year-old dual British and American citizen. She has been under the lens of federal authorities for a long time now for her alleged involvement in the distribution of dangerous drugs.
Jasveen used to allegedly run a drug operation out of her North Hollywood home. Officials have claimed that she used to store, package and distribute drugs from this address. In the past, the officials even described her residence as a “drug-selling emporium” and claimed that it was filled with methamphetamine, cocaine, and prescription drugs like Xanax, according to a News18 report.
She became popular in March 2019 when she was busted for selling methamphetamine in a different case. A raid was conducted at her residence during which the authorities seized 79 bottles of liquid ketamine and nearly 2,000 meth pills.
Matthew Perry, who starred as Chandler Bing in the popular show FRIENDS, passed away in October 2023. Perry was 54 when he was found floating face down in the pool of his Pacific Palisades home. It was later reported that the actor died as a result of “acute effects of ketamine” and subsequent drowning.
Court documents now claim that days ahead of his death, Perry had obtained ketamine through a broker named Eric Fleming. This broker had sourced the drug from Sangha. While Sangha sold drugs to Fleming on October 13, 2023, the latter then provided them to Perry on October 14 and 24, respectively. It has been alleged that she provided 50 vials of ketamine in two separate deals to Fleming. It has also been alleged that Sangha even included “ketamine lollipops” as a bonus since she was impressed with the large size of Perry’s order, the report added.
