New Delhi: It was an evening meant for the politicians led by ‘Man of the Match’ Narendra Modi, who took oath as India’s Prime Minister for a record-equalling third straight term.
Heads of state from neighbouring countries like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, and even the premiers of Maldives and Mauritius also travelled all the way to attend the special function to celebrate India’s democracy.
Political leaders apart, there were eminent personalities from different fields in attendance also.
As the guests arrived at Rashtrapati Bhavan ahead of the oath-taking ceremony of the PM and his Cabinet members, the cameras were quick to spot Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar.
Shah Rukh (58), attired in black, sported his trademark ponytail as he came with his long-time manager Pooja Dadlani.
Akshay, 56, donned a purple shirt and black trousers.
As the ageless Bollywood superstars crossed paths, they greeted each other and shared a warm hug as if two friends were meeting after a long time.
No wonder the picture of their hug went viral in no time.
The two were seen greeting Mukesh Ambani and his son Anant.
Among other celebrities who watched the nearly three-hour ceremony were Rajinikanth, Anil Kapoor, newly-elected MP Kangana Ranaut, Anupam Kher and Vikrant Massey.
