Mumbai: Aamir Khan, who is supporting Junaid Khan’s upcoming project ‘Ek Din’, called his son a ‘lambi race ka ghoda,’ and said that failures don’t deter him.

Junaid stepped into acting with ‘Maharaj’, where his performance received positive feedback.

Junaid later appeared in ‘Loveyapa’, which failed to make an impact at the box office.

The actor will next be seen in ‘Ek Din’, alongside Sai Pallavi.

Speaking during a recent interaction with Radio City India, Aamir shared that he doesn’t try to shield Junaid from setbacks, allowing him to face challenges and grow on his own.

“Junaid aisa nahi hai, vo mujhe kabhi kuch karne nahi dega. He is a very independent guy, very strong-willed and doesn’t give up easily. Voh lambi race ka ghoda hai, jo mere baare mein bhi bola jaata tha jab main pehle peh

le aaya tha. Failures don’t faze him, and he’s very honest with himself (Junaid isn’t like that—he would never let me do things for him. He is a very independent, strong-willed person who doesn’t give up easily. He’s a long-distance runner, the same thing people used to say about me when I had just started out),” said Aamir.

“He has also followed his character in Ek Din with full honesty. Although it’s not a very heroic character, he has never tried to step out of it. That shows his honesty towards his work,” he added.

Aamir further shared that Junaid completely immerses himself in every role he takes on, becoming the character on screen.

‘Ek Din’, backed by Aamir Khan Productions, is steadily generating buzz among audiences. Touted as a soft, emotional love story, the film has already struck a chord with movie buffs through its engaging trailer and melodious soundtrack.

The film also marks the reunion of Aamir with filmmaker Mansoor Khan after a long gap, who together have delivered memorable films like ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’, ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar’, ‘Akele Hum Akele Tum’, and ‘Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na’.

Directed by Sunil Pandey, ‘Ek Din’ is scheduled to hit theatres on May 1.
