New Delhi: Putting an end to various rumours, Aamir Khan on Thursday confirmed his romantic relationship with good friend Gauri.
Introducing his new girlfriend during a press meet, the actor, who will be turning 60 on March 14 said, “Gauri and I met 25 years ago and now, we are partners. We are very serious and committed to each other. We have been together for a year and a half.”
He also shared that he introduced his girlfriend to best friends Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan during the pre-birthday bash hosted at his residence on Wednesday evening.
“Gauri works in production. I sing to her every day,” the actor stated.
“I don’t know at the age of 60, mujhe shaadi shobha deti hai ki nahi. My kids are very happy. I am very fortunate to have such great relationships with my ex-wives,” he continued to share.
The actor also sang a few lines from the song ‘Kabhi Kabhi Mere Dil Mein’ for his girlfriend during the press meet.
He also revealed that he has been learning classical singing for the past two years.
“I am learning new things every year. I have been learning Indian classical singing. I love singing. My guru is Sucheta Bhattacharjee, and I am enjoying it a lot,” he said.
Aamir had married producer Reena Dutta in 1986, with whom he has two kids – Junaid and Ira Khan. The couple got divorced in 2002.
He got married a second time in 2005, to director Kiran Rao. The couple parted ways in 2021. They have a son named Azad.
Addressing fans’ desire to see him team up with Salman and Shah Rukh, Aamir said, “We three (Aamir, Salman, Shah Rukh) want to do a film together. If a good story comes, we will definitely do it.”
Aamir will next be seen in RS Prasanna’s ‘Sitaare Zameen Par,’ which is set to hit theatres in December 2025.
Talking about the project, he said, “The sequel to Taare Zameen Par is coming up, but it’s ten steps ahead. Taare Zameen Par made you cry, but this one is humorous while making a strong statement. We are announcing it tomorrow.”
