Mumbai: Amid boycott calls, Aamir Khan Productions (AKP) changed its display picture (DP) across all social media handles to that of a National Flag.
Netizens who noticed this change called it ‘damage control’ by the actor ahead of the release of his film ‘Sitaare Zameen Par.’
“Lol he’s being boycotted online so clearly did it as damage control,” one user wrote.
“Bekar me damage control kar rahe hai, aisa karne se thore naa boycott karne waale inko chor denge. (It’s not like people wanting to boycott will change their minds, why are they trying to damage control),” added another.
A section of netizens has been urging cinegoers not to watch Aamir’s ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ as the actor stayed silent on India’s Operation Sindoor against terrorists in Pakistan and PoK.
Moreover, in an earlier interview from Turkey, following the release of ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, Aamir had expressed that he feels unsafe in India.
At a recent event, when asked about the India-Pakistan conflict, Aamir told ABP News, “We need justice and assurance that it [terrorist attacks] won’t happen again. We believe in our government, they’ll take action against the anti-social elements who committed this and bring them to justice.”
‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ is slated to release on June 20.
