Aamir Khan’s Son Junaid Likely To Play A Journalist In Bollywood Debut Film

Mumbai: Aamir Khan’s son Junaid is likely to play the role of a journalist and social reformer in his debut film.

Junaid, who will be launched by Yash Raj Films, will share screen space with Arjun Reddy-fame Shalini Reddy in the yet-untitled period drama. Shalini will also be making her Bollywood debut, opposite Ranveer Singh, according to a report in Mid-Day.

The film, to be helmed by Siddharth P Malhotra, is based on the 1862 Maharaj libel case, with Junaid portraying the character of Karsandas Mulji who exposed religious leader Jadunathji Brijratanji Maharaj’s sexual relations with female devotees.

“Earlier, the team had locked a location in Bangur Nagar, Goregaon, to build the set. However, Adi sir (Aditya Chopra) felt the film would need a bigger set-up and finally zeroed in on Madh Island. The construction work will begin in a day or two. Siddharth is eyeing to take the project on floors by early 2021,” Mid-Day quoted a source as saying.
