Nuapada: The girl child is still unwanted in the society as the locals rescued a three-day-old abandoned baby on Thursday morning at Daldali village under Nuapada tehsil in Nuapada district.
According to the sources, some locals on their way to the farmland in the morning found the baby near a pond. They rescued her and informed ASHA workers.
ASHA workers and district child line officials admitted the baby to Nuapada hospital for check-up. The condition of the baby is stable now.
The police have started investigation into the matter and are trying to trace her parents.
