Sonepur: A newborn baby, who was found abandoned on roadside, was rescued by a woman in Odisha’s Subarnapur district on Sunday.
As per reports, the woman, Bhanumati Bagh of Tebhapadar under Subalaya police limits in the district, heard the cry of the newborn from roadside while she was on her way to the home. On getting closer to the source of the sound, she found the baby boy inside a bag.
Bhanumati took the baby to a hospital at Biramaharajpur town. After examining the baby, the doctors of the hospital made arrangement to shift him to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) in Sonepur as they found his condition serious.
On being informed by the hospital authorities, district Childline members along with a team from Subalaya police station went to the DHH.
While the police have started investigation, the DHH doctors said the baby was under treatment and his condition was grim.
