Cuttack: Suspected Al Qaeda operative Abdur Rehman was produced in the District and Sessions Judge Court in Cuttack on Wednesday.
Rehman was produced in the court by the special task force (STF) of Crime Branch amid tight security after being brought from Choudwar Jail.
On June 12, he was produced before the Salepur Judicial Magistrate Fast Class (JMFC). Later, STF submitted a 574-page chargesheet with regard to the case in the court. The case, however, was referred to District and Sessions Judge Court, considering the nature of his offences.
Rehman was arrested during a joint raid by the special cell of Delhi Police and Comissionerate Police here on December 15, 2015, on charges of running a Madrasa illegally on the outskirts of Cuttack and radicalizing youths for terror activities. Later, he was booked under provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
