New Delhi: India has put its Navy on high alert following intelligence inputs suggesting a possible sea-borne terror attack on Indian cities.
All naval bases and warships have stepped up vigil as part of measures taken after the abrogation of Article 370, news wire ANI reported.
According to some other media reports, India is apprehending a 26/11 Mumbai style terror attack on major India cities.
On November 26, 2008, terrorists armed with deadly weapons had infiltrated into the megapolis through the sea route. They had arrived on vessels sailing all the way from Pakistan.
The navy is keeping a close watch on the high seas. There are credible inputs that terror elements in Pakistan are desperate to carry out a major attack in India following the revocation of Article 370, India Today channel said.
Lt General K J S Dhillon of the Indian Army had earlier said that the armed forces were prepared to meet any threat posed by Pakistan across the LoC.
“Lately Pakistan has been openly threatening about certain incidents in Kashmir. Notwithstanding we’ll take care of all of them; let anyone come & try & disrupt the peace in the valley, we will have him eliminated!” Dhillon said in a video posted by Chinar Corps Twitter handle of the Indian Army.
