Bhubaneswar: An absconding drug peddler was arrested by the Special task Force (STF) of Odisha police here on Friday in connection with a 1050 gram brown sugar seizure case.
The accused has been identified as Dipak Kumar Nayak alias Raja, a resident of Kaliapani village in Jajpur district. He was staying in the Forest park area of Bhubaneswar.
On Tuesday, a team of STF with the help of Khurda police conducted a raid on Sundarpada-Jatni road under Airfield police limits and apprehended a drug peddler, Umesh Behera. While more than 1 kg of the contraband and a Honda Amaze car was seized, Raja, the owner-cum-driver of the vehicle, managed to flee.
The accused has been arrested and will be forwarded to the court of District & Sessions Judge-cum-Special Judge, Bhubaneswar, an STF official said.
