Accounts Officer Lands In Vigilance Net; Assets Worth ₹1.17 Cr Surfaces

Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday raided the houses of
accounts officer of textiles directorate on charges of amassing
properties disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The officer has been identified as Sarat Chandra Patra.

Responding to a complaint lodged against Patra, the anti-corruption
officials carried out simultaneous raids at his houses located at
Laxmi Vihar in Bhubaneswar and Khaira of Balasore district.

The vigilance department has reportedly claimed to have detected
assets to the tune of Rs 1.17 crore after conducting searches.

Several important documents were also seized during the raids, reports said.
