Accused Escapes From Police Custody, Jumps Into Mahanadi River In Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack: A mobile phone theft accused escaped from police custody and jumped into the Mahanadi river in Odisha’s Cuttack city on Friday.

According to sources, Cantonment Police had detained one Sankar Behera alias Bablu, a resident of Bidanasi, for questioning in connection with the theft. He reportedly pushed a sentry and escaped. He was later seen wading through deep waters of the Mahanadi.

A police officers said that efforts are on to trace him.
