Accused In Bombing Incident Escapes From Police Station In Odisha’s Cuttack

Athagarh: A man, who was arrested in connection with a bombing incident, escaped from Athagarh police station in Odisha’s Cuttack district on Saturday.

The accused, identified as Biranchi Mantri, was reportedly arrested by the Athagarh police late on Friday for his alleged involvement in the bombing incident at Amrutamanohi Patna village on August 9, sources said.

However, Mantri managed to run away from police custody due to the alleged carelessness. A manhunt has been launched by the police to trace and nab the accused.

The incident is being investigated to ascertain the circumstances under which the accused escaped from the police custody, a police official said, , adding that stern action will be taken against those responsible for the lapse and negligence
