New Delhi: Yoga guru Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna, Managing Director of Patanjali Ayurved have filed a fresh affidavit in the Supreme Court, extending an “unconditional and unqualified apology” related to the misleading medical advertisement case.
Earlier on April 2, the apex court had pulled up Ramdev for defying its orders and directed him to be present in court on the next date of hearing.
Notably, a show cause notice had been issued against the duo as to why contempt proceedings would not be initiated against them for Patanjali’s failure to respond to a notice issued in the contempt proceeding relating to misleading advertisements and the smear case against allopathic medicines.
Patanjali Ayurved, in its advertising and branding of medicinal products, claimed to cure diseases or ailments. The court had also ordered Patanjali to stop making any statements against any medicine system in its ads in print or other forms of media. The bench had asked the government to take immediate action against Patanjali Ayurved in the matter.
