Berhampur: An acid-laden tanker developed leakage following collision with a truck on National Highway-16 near Gopalpur in Ganjam district on Friday.
Receiving information about the mishap, fire and police personnel rushed the spot immediately and disposed the acid on ground and blocked the road traffic for an hour to avoid any untoward incident.
The driver, who was trapped inside the steering of the tanker, has been rescued and admitted to a local hospital in critical condition, a fire official said.
However, the driver of the vehicle is now stable after treatment. The matter is being investigated, the official added.
