Cuttack: An Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in the city has tested positive for COVID-19, Cuttack Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Prateek Singh informed on Friday.
The corona-affected ACP is now in-home quarantine.
The DCP informed that the swab samples of all staffers were taken for test recently after the ACP tested positive. The test reports revealed that the other personnel who came in contact with the ACP at a police station were negative.
The administration has started contact tracing of the infected officer and steps were being taken to sanitize the police station.
The number of COVID-19 infected people in Cuttack city has risen sharply to 2, 828. Of these, 1,727 have recovered and 1,087 are active cases.
The death toll in the city has risen to 14.
