Bhubaneswar: Voicing happiness over the public grievance hearing held on Monday, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said that action has been initiated on around 99 per cent of the grievances received during the programme.
After the grievance hearing programme, the Chief Minister told reporters that the problems of a large number of people could be resolved with the help of other Ministers and officials.
Stating that the hearing was held in a smooth and efficient manner, Majhi said that action has so far been initiated on around 99 per cent of the grievances received on the first day of the programme.
Grievances of the people have been referred promptly to different departments for expeditious redressal, he said.
It is the responsibility of the government to know the problems being faced by the people and resolve these, he said, adding that members of the public put forward their individual problems as well as social issues before the government for resolution.
Noting that the public grievance hearing has also been resumed at the district level, the Chief Minister advised the people to first approach the authorities at the district level with their problems for quick redressal.
If their problems can be resolved at the district level, the number of grievances at the state level will considerably get reduced, Majhi said.
Stating that the public grievance hearing process would be further streamlined for expeditious resolution of problems, he said, “plans are afoot to hold the hearing in a smarter way.”
Lamenting that a barrier had been erected between the government and public for several years, the CM said with the resumption of public grievance hearing the barrier has been pulled down and people can apprise the government about their various problems for speedy resolution.
