Bhubaneswar: A day after recording an 87 per cent rise in new COVID cases, the daily caseload in Odisha on Thursday dropped by 36 per cent with 38 people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
The state had seen 60 new infections on Wednesday after registering less than 50 cases for three days – 32 (Tuesday), 40 (Monday) and 45 (Sunday).
According to the I & PR department, 23 of the new cases are from quarantine and 15 local contacts. Nine among them are in the age group of 0-18 years. The new cases have been reported from 13 districts

With these cases being detected from 41,174 samples, the test positivity rate stood at 0.09 per cent.
Odisha now has 476 active cases and two districts – Puri and Kalahandi are COVID-free.
